Fernando Ribeiro is a Brazilian creative director, filmmaker and founder of MLX Digital, a marketing and audiovisual production agency that connects storytelling, technology and strategy. With over a decade of experience in visual communication, he specializes in building powerful narratives through documentary editing, branded content and digital storytelling for impactful projects in Brazil and the UK.
Through MLX Digital, Fernando has collaborated with brands, artists and institutions across multiple industries, producing compelling narratives that combine technical precision with emotional resonance. His expertise includes directing and editing visual campaigns, shaping narratives through interview-based documentaries and creating immersive digital experiences through web development and social media strategy.
As part of Cristina Cabral’s research team, Fernando and his agency are responsible for developing the project’s official website, the editing of the documentary series, capturing all aerial footage as the project’s videographer for drone scenes and interview editing. He sees this project as a meaningful opportunity to amplify Black voices and experiences in the UK, helping to weave stories of identity, culture and resistance into a collective visual memory.
For Fernando, each frame is more than an image. It is a bridge between people, places and histories. His contribution to the project reflects his commitment to using storytelling as a tool for social connection and transformation.
Sandro Fonseca is a Cape Verdean audiovisual artist, creative director and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience creating content that unites aesthetics, technology and social transformation. He is CEO and co-founder of LENTiLHAS Lda and co-founder of CreativeBase by Lentilhas LDA, recognized with the Startup Promise award at the 1st edition of Digital Awards Cape Verde. In 2024, he also co-founded MedKey – Virtual Health System, winner of the Re!nventa Hackathon, which proposed innovative digital solutions for the health sector. Leading Lentilhas LDA, Sandro leads an innovative approach in the audiovisual sector, focused on talent training, impactful content production and development of digital solutions for the creative ecosystem. Through his personal brand @sandroufonsecaCREATIVE, he conducts authorial and institutional projects that value local narratives and promote new collaboration models in the creative industry. He is creator of the exhibition and podcast “Só Por Hoje”, which addresses the recovery process of drug addicts through art, in addition to having a strong role in social impact initiatives such as Narcotics Anonymous Cape Verde. He also plays an active role in strengthening the Cape Verdean cultural scene as a member of the organization of Festival Oiá, a cinema and audiovisual creation event that boosts young filmmakers and promotes exchange between artists from the archipelago and diaspora. In his professional trajectory, he worked as official photographer for the Secretary of State for Digital Economy, Minister of Digital Economy and Minister of Finance, in addition to collaborating with various public institutions and national strategic projects. His practice reflects a balance between artistic vision, social commitment and management capacity, making him a central figure in the development of the audiovisual and creative sector in Cape Verde. Beyond production, he’s passionate about sound design, composition, and bringing authentic African influences to global platforms.
I’m so honoured to be a part of crisitina’s wonderful team for a powerful new documentary exploring the experiences of Black people living in the UK. The project aims to highlight real stories of identity, culture, and resilience, giving voice to a community that continues to shape British society in diverse and meaningful ways. I’m excited to contribute my skills and perspective to help bring these stories to life on screen. This project holds deep personal meaning for me. Through working on the documentary, I’ve had the privilege of meeting incredible people and learning from their diverse experiences. She finds purpose in illuminating everyday heroes and challenging stereotypes through compelling visual narratives. With a deep sense of responsibility, she seeks to translate the experiences of oppression and resilience within the Black British community into powerful visual forms that evoke empathy and challenge perceptions.

With her extensive audiovisual experience, she brings immense value to the Cabo Verde Digital team, helping create engaging content and promoting strategic partnerships that encourage the Cape Verdean community — at home and abroad — to actively participate in the development of the national digital ecosystem.
